Sky-Blue Ru Ware Gaiwan with Hand-Painted Loquat

This elegant gaiwan comes from Jingdezhen, China’s historic porcelain capital. Crafted from fine clay and finished in a soft sky-blue Ru-style glaze, the body is smooth, rounded, and warm to the touch—like jade, with a subtle depth as if agate were blended into the glaze.

The cup is hand-painted by Jingdezhen artisan Xiaohua. Golden loquats and delicate branches decorate the side, while the lid carries the poetic line: “Wine in the east garden, tipsy in the west—every loquat gathered from a tree of gold.” The design is fresh, natural, and quietly refined.
