This personal tea cup, or master cup, is made in Jingdezhen—China’s legendary porcelain capital. The scene is painted entirely by hand by Xiaohua, a well-known local artist, and finished with a soft sky-blue Ru glaze.

The design draws on the Yuan Dynasty painting Hundred Geese: snow-covered banks, swaying reeds, and geese calling to one another in a quiet winter marsh. The glaze is warm, understated, and calm—like the light after rain—giving the cup a timeless, poetic feel. When tea steam rises, it echoes the line: “In misty water and wind-blown reeds, wild geese call across the shore at dusk.”
