Sky-Blue Ru-Style Gaiwan: White Hibiscus

From the porcelain capital of Jingdezhen, this hand-painted gaiwan (lidded tea bowl) pairs a soft sky-blue Ru-style glaze with a delicate white hibiscus motif. Fired on a fine clay body, the glaze is rich and glossy with a radiant sheen—warm and smooth as jade, as though agate were fused into the glaze.
